World Heart Week Celebration

United College of Medical Sciences, Coimbatore celebrated world heart week on October 11th 2021 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm at United educational Institutional Auditorium. Dr.S.Jayakrishnan, M.Ch Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Apollo Hospital - Kochi, was the speaker and chief guest who presented on the topic “Anatomy of Cardiac Chambers and Congenital Cyanotic and acyanotic Heart Defects”. 1st year B.Sc (CT) and B.Sc (CPPT) department students displayed the model of Pulmonary Circulation and it was explained by Gowri Karthic.D, I year B.Sc (CPPT) student. SECOND MEGA VACCINATION CAMP

                Vaccination is an important tool to help stop the Pandemic as per the guidance from our Honorable Chief Minister MK.Stalin Organized mega vaccination camp throughout various places in Tamil Nadu. We proudly announced that our students have participated in second mega COVID-19 vaccination drive.  That was held in Coimbatore district on 19-09-2021.

                     During First Mega Vaccination Camp Prof Dr.D. Ruby Anitha deputed as a Nodal Officer at Niligiris District by The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council. She coordinated with all the Block medical officers and Deputy Director of Health Services.

Free eye camp

                  This event was a combined activity conducted by Rotary Coimbatore Elite and United College of Medical Science along with M.V. Eye Hospital on 27th September 2021 at a village Attukal near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore. The main theme of this camp is to provide quality  healthcare for the remote population living near Thondamuthur area, Coimbatore. In this camp we were mainly focused on Free Eye Check up, Diabetic screening. The camp functioned from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm. Free Diabetic Screening Camp

 Rotary Coimbatore Elite club and United College of  Medical Science collaboratively organized a Free Diabetic screening Camp on 29th September 2021 at 9.00 am to 1.00 pm in Naickenpalayam, Coimbatore. The camp was supervised and guided by the Vice Principal Prof .Dr. Ruby Anitha and supervised by the camp coordinator Mrs. Nandhini, and Mr.Shakthi. 12 students of United College of Medical Science and United college of Nursing took part in the camp. The students activities done for people participated in the camp  includes height, weight measurement, blood sugar level &  blood pressure level check up. Our united college of medical sciences

Freshers Day

Freshers day is the start of the new journey of life. Freshers day is an informal kind of introduction to the seniors,  faculty,  members and the institution as well. We celebrated this party to welcome our new batch of 2020-2021.We celebrated the party with a programme of events intended to welcome  new first year students . It has been the platform where our juniors showcased their talents on the stage. We, as seniors,  made the freshers feel good about being  a part of our college. WORLD CANCER DAY PROGRAMME 2022

The United College of Medical sciences organized a WORLD CANCER DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMME on 05-02-2022 At the seminar hall, in UIT campus from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm. United College of Nursing Principal (I/C) professor Dr. D.Ruby Anitha was the speaker of the day. Who gave a detailed awareness about gynecological cancer to the female students from United Educational institutions. In Total,159 students actively participated in this event.  During the session students visualized basic understanding of cancer and its adverse effects in day to day life. Moreover, students indulged in the quiz program which is conducted by the organizing committee.

OT INSTRUMENTAL EXPO

The department of B.Sc Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology, United College Of Medical Sciences organized an expo by displaying the basic instruments utilized in operation theatre. This event took place in the   college campus from 01.02.2022 to 03.02.2022. Students and staff from various departments of Allied Health Courses, students from United College Of Nursing, United College Of Physiotherapy and United Public School visited this expo very interestingly. The instruments which had been displayed in the expo are explained by the students of B.Sc Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology. A simple and an useful method to make a students learn easy
